Letter to Senior Project Research Team

Dear ThunderRidge Alternative Fuel Research Team:

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy school and personal schedules to embark together on devising a creative strategic and tactical plan to transform Highlands Ranch into an alternative fuel economy. As far as I can tell, this type of research has never been done before in the United States.

Your strategic and tactical research to transform Highlands Ranch’s economy based upon alternative fuels and renewable energy will lay down the business plan foundation for future TRHS seniors to update and enhance. Ultimately, the end result of your efforts will be to have the voters of Highlands Ranch vote on supporting an energy efficient local economy.

You should be proud of the fact that if anything comes out of your research project, your findings will promote local and national discussions on the reasons why a community should take charge of the future as it relates to energy consumption.

I remember a few years ago when the vice president of the Ford Motor Co. called me into his office to inform me that I was getting a promotion. He told me that he could fill up his entire office with executives who can tell him hundreds of reasons why something won’t work or why a program will fail. He said he’s always looking for that one person who can tell why something will work and then do it.

As President Ronald Regan once said, “When you come to the edge of the known world, you are standing on the edge of the infinite.”

Thank you.

Yours Truly,

Steve T
